Nazca Lines: In Peru, 450 kilometers south of Lima and near the Pacific Ocean, are the pampas of “Ingenio”, Nazca, Palpa and Socos. There, on high plains between 460 and 670 meters, an archaeological enigma that has attracted the attention of curious since it was first observed by the Spanish conqueror “Lion’s Cieza” in 1547: hundreds of straight lines to often exceed one kilometer long, large trapezoids, spirals, triangles, ‘squares’, drawings of animals and people are distributed chaotically in the desert in Peru.

TRAVEL DAY 9: CITY TOUR PUNO – Lake Titicaca, Floating Islands of Uros and Taquile (B), (L)

Early in the morning, we will have an unforgettable motorboat excursion on Lake Titicaca to visit the floating islands of the Uros, ancient pre-Inca Lake, known as the Water Tribe. These Andean natives built their own islands by periodically adding new layers of “totora” (Scirpus Totora) vegetable fiber of the Papyrus family. They also use this material to build their houses and boats. We will continue our trip to Taquile, inhabited by Quechua-speaking natives who have developed from generation to generation, an efficient and original social system while a magnificent weaving technique. Viajes a Peru Lima Paracas Nazca: La Reserva Nacional de Paracas protege la vida silvestre, ayúdanos a conservar una de las zonas más ricas en biodiversidad del litoral peruano.

La Bahía de Paracas: asombra desde un comienzo, al atravesar el puesto de control para ingresar a la Reserva Nacional de Paracas. La vida marina, abundante y fecunda, atrapa a los visitantes de inmediato, quienes pueden observar una gran diversidad de aves acuáticas en los sectores Santo Domingo y La Aguada. Distancia del Puesto de Control al Centro de Interpretación: 2 km. Una buena manera de iniciar el recorrido de la Reserva es visitando el Centro de Interpretación, donde se brinda información interesante y detallada sobre la fauna y la flora propias de la zona, y se exponen los retos que enfrenta su conservación. Asimismo, se describen las actividades socioeconómicas que se desarrollan en el interior de la Reserva.

Actividades – Observación de aves: gaviotas, playeros, chorlos, garzas, rayadores y flamencos. Se dice que estos últimos inspiraron al libertador José de San Martín para decidir los colores de la bandera del Perú. Caminata por el Sendero Paleontológico de La Aguada para observar fósiles de invertebrados marinos y vegetación adaptada al desierto. Campamento.

Lineas de Nazca: En Perú, a 450 kilómetros al sur de Lima y cerca del océano Pacífico, se encuentran las pampas de Ingenio, Nazca, Palpa y Socos. Las líneas más grandes de Nazca son visibles desde la astronave Proba, de la Agencia Espacial Europea, que se encuentra a 600 kilómetros de altura en el espacio. Esas líneas de nazca ahora corren el riesgo de ser borradas por la acción humana y por la erosión, que parecen estar incrementándose. Llegada y Paseo guiado en lancha hasta las Islas Ballestas de la Reserva Nacional de Paracas, donde podremos observar leones marinos, pájaros bobos, pelícanos, pingüinos y otras aves marinas. En el retorno tendremos la oportunidad de ver el «Candelabro», una figura gigantesca de origen desconocido, del estilo de las Líneas de Nazca, dibujada en la arena en la ladera de un cerro. Temprano en la mañana, luego de desayunar, nos trasladaremos al aeropuerto de Nazca para abordar una avioneta que hará un vuelo de 45 minutos sobre las misteriosas Líneas de Nazca. En la tarde viajaremos a la ciudad de Arequipa (8 horas y media aprox.) atravesando desiertos y valles de la costa. A la llegada a Arequipa, traslado al hotel seleccionado.

Temprano en la mañana, saldremos en una inolvidable excursión en lancha sobre el Lago Titicaca para visitar las Islas Flotantes de los Uros, antiguos pobladores pre-incaicos del lago, conocidos como la Tribu Acuática. Estos nativos andinos construyen sus propias islas agregando periódicamente nuevas capas de totora, (Scirpus Totora) fibra vegetal de la familia del papiro. También utilizan este material para construir sus casas y botes. Continuaremos nuestra excursión a Taquile, habitada por nativos quechuas quienes han desarrollado, de generación en generación, un eficiente y original sistema social a la vez que una magnífica técnica de tejido.
