A la hora indicada se le recogerá de su Hotel para viajar al pueblo de Ollantaytambo que dura aproximadamente 1 hora y 20 minutos de viajes hasta la estación de trenes de Ollantaytambo, lugar donde abordaremos el tren hacia la ciudadela de Machu Picchu que dura 2 horas de viaje en tren a Aguas Calientes (Machupicchu pueblo). Traslado al hotel de aguas calientes (Machupicchu pueblo).

Hoy día tendrán la tarde libre de su tours para conocer costumbres del poblado de aguas calientes (Machupicchu pueblo) y tomar fotografías del lugar y disfrutar de unos baños termales medicinales (la entrada es de 10 nuevos soles por persona). Hoy nos levantaremos muy temprano para el tours 5:20 a.m. para tomar el desayuno, luego abordaremos el bus para Machu Picchu, el viaje dura de 30 minutos de subida hacia la ciudadela de machu picchu y poder apreciar la majestuosa salida del So en Machupicchu. Historia de Mchu Picchu :No es una simple torre, pues aparte de las tallas aún visibles en la roca que ocupa casi todo el recinto, hay unas ventanas que se dirigen al noreste, este y sureste, con una orientación significativa para fines calendáricos, pues coinciden con los ángulos precisos de cuando el Sol se ubica en el solsticio de invierno, de verano y en los equinoccios. El sol penetra a este recinto entre el 21 y 24 de junio por la ventana principal -donde pudo ubicarse la estatua Inti-illapa- iluminando el recinto, que debió estar techado y oscuro. El sol debía entrar, en efecto, en forma de rayos (inti-illapa). La ventana, de forma trapezoidal, tiene un umbral escalonado, en forma de algo que podría simular un pedestal. En varios sillares de este umbral hay labrados unos tubos hechos como para sostener pasadores. Bingham pensó que sirvieron para fijar una imagen de oro, como en el Qorikancha, donde se supone que estaba la imagen del “Punchau”. Sería un buen lugar para la imagen de oro de Pachakutec. Estaría frente al sol del atardecer, mirando los templos del norte, desde donde se vería su reflejo dorado; tendría una hermosa fuente de aguas cristalinas a sus pies, con altares labrados en las rocas que le rodean, y un “mirador” al costado, desde donde podía rendirse culto al Inka. Por otra ventana entraba el sol en diciembre v por la tercera en marzo y septiembre. Los rayos iluminaban la roca blanca y brillante que estaba dentro de la torre; allí había imágenes talladas que fueron destruidas. De ellas sólo quedan las huellas. La imagen de la roca terna una “cola”, que está al suroeste ,pasando debajo de la pared circular y continuando un tramo fuera; a nosotros nos parece el cuerpo de un felino, que bien pudo tener su cabeza hacia el noreste. La superficie de la roca ha sido afectada por golpes intencionalmente dirigidos a destruirla. A eso se agregó un incendio de gran intensidad, que no sólo afectó a la roca, sino la estructura en conjunto, reventando los sillares de los muros, especialmente en el sector donde pudo estar la imagen del Inka. Fue de tal intensidad el incendio, que muchos piensan que más bien pudo ser la caída de un rayo. Pensamos que fue un incendio provocado, como parte de la destrucción del mausoleo por los españoles que iniciaban la “extirpación de idolatrías”. Debieron ser muchas horas de fuego, con un combustible de gran potencia (por ejemplo materias grasas con estiércol de llama). En ese momento, o antes, se apoderaron de los tesoros que allí se habrían depositado, junto con Inti-illapa. El torreón debió estar cubierto por un techo cónico. Al su lado hay un espacio rectangular de carácter ceremonial, en forma de patio abierto, donde se encontró una vista subterránea, de finos acabados, cuya función se desconoce. Debieron ser espacios litúrgicos. En el mismo patio hay también una puerta que da acceso a la planta alta de un recinto muy elegante, que puede ser una especie de capilla auxiliar de esta suerte de espacio sagrado superior. Al sur hay una escalinata que conduce a las terrazas más bajas, donde están los recintos que rodean la Tumba Real. Según Betanzos8, “en aquel pueblo (Patallacta) do el cuerpo (del Inka Pachakutec) estaba y de allí este bulto (momia) en unas andas a la ciudad del Cuzco suntuosamente a las fiestas de la ciudad, el cual bulto (momia) pusieron en las casas de Topa Inga Yupangue cuando así fiestas había en la ciudad le sacaban a las tales fiestas con los demás bultos… entraba en la casa de. Sol y fingía que hablaba con él[y sacasen] a las fiestas que hubiese en el Cuzco y que cuando le sacasen cantando las cosas que él hizo en su vida en las guerras como en su ciudad y que le sirviesen y reverenciasen y mudasen las ropas y vestidos como él los mudaba y era servido en su vida todo lo cual fue hecho el cual bulto se llevó Mango Inga de la ciudad del Cuzco cuando se alzó y el de oro que estaba encima de su sepultura por avise que doña Angelina Yupangue dio del al marqués don Francisco Pizarro le hubo el marqués con la demás riqueza que tenía y sólo su cuerpo está el día de hoy (ca. 1550) Patallacta el cual por sus miembros parece que era en su vida hombre de buen altor y gran estatura del cual se dice que murió de edad de ciento y veinte años”. En virtud de esa referencia podemos imaginar que el cuerpo momificado del Inka pudo estar depositado y podemos también imaginar que la del curaca chanca Usco Wi.llca (que se menciona a su lado) iban y venían del Cusco me? rímales dos o tres veces al año.
