VIAJE A MARAS:

Ubicado al occidente del Cusco a 3300 m.s.n.m desde alli se aprecia la cordillera de urubamba y las cumbres de nieves de los andes de «La Veronica» ( 5682 m.s.n.m ) y el » Chicon» (5530 m.s.n.m); Su ocupación importante empezó cuando los nobles cusqueños del inkario donde fueron despojados de sus palacios en el Qosqo y tuvieron que salir a establecerse en otros pueblos pequeños como Maras; Posee una iglesia fabricada en adobes, típica de la arquitectura religiosa pueblerina del lugar, al interior de la iglesia se guardan lienzos de la pintura cusqueña.

Mora se halla a unos 7 Km de viaje, al suroeste de Maras; es grupo arqueológico único en su genero en la región, se trata de depresiones y hoyos naturales gigantescos en la superficie del terreno que fueron utilizados para construir en sus contornos terrazas o andenes agrícolas con sus respectivos canales de irrigacion, es pues un prototipo de invernadero o estación experimental biológica bastantes avanzada para su tiempo que ayudo a que el hombre americano de la antigüedad heredase a la humanidad un 60% de los productos vegetales que consume , que el hombre andino consuma un millar y medio de variedades diversas de papas , un centenar y medio de maíz y muchísimos otros productos .

VIAJE A SALINERAS O MINAS DE SAL:

Ubicado al noroeste del pueblo de Maras; están constituidas por unos 3000 pozos pequeños con un área promedio de unos 5 m2; durante la época de sequía se llenan o riegan cada 3días con agua salada que emana de un manante natural ubicado en la parte superior de los pozos para que al evaporarse el agua, la sal contenida en esta se solidifique paulatinamente, posteriormente la sal es golpeada y así granulada; la sal sera después embolsada en costales plásticos y enviada a los mercados de la región de Cusco y de todo el Peru; hoy esa sal esta siendo yodada, razón por la cual, su consumo no es dañino, finalmente estaremos retornando a la ciudad del Cusco a las 2pm aproximadamente .

Duración del viaje: 6 a 7 horas aproximadamente es el viaje de maras moray minas de sal.

El segundo, después de adelantarse un tramo, agotado, decidió descansar y se quedó dormido agarrando los porongos de agua para que nadie se apropie de ellos. San Francisco aprovechó el sueño del compañero y vertió sobre la tierra un poco de lo que contenían los porongos. «Para que el agüita se quede», dijo el santo. San Damián cuando despertó, no se dio cuenta del detalle y se fue a Lamas, adonde debía llegar, con los porongos medio llenos. Por eso, cuenta la historia, en Lamas hay poca sal, porque se quedó en Maras.
