3 day Trip to the Amazon in Peru
3 day Trip to the Amazon in Peru: Sandoval Lake is one of the most impressive natural destinations in the Peruvian Amazon, located within the Tambopata National Reserve. This highly protected ecosystem is strictly regulated by park rangers to preserve its rich biodiversity.
Access is only allowed through an authorized travel agency or a registered guide. This ensures environmental protection and provides a safe experience inside the rainforest.
One of the highlights of the area is the observation of macaw and parrot clay licks, where species such as green parrots and other psittacines gather in the early morning to consume mineral-rich clay from riverbanks—an essential behavior for digestion and mineral balance.
This is a place where the rainforest remains in its purest form: lush vegetation, diverse wildlife, and a fully immersive Amazon experience.
