Sacred Valley VIP Tour – 1 Day

Itinerary – Super Sacred Valley Full Day

07:00 hrs – Pickup in Cusco and departure to the Sacred Valley

The tour begins with pickup from your accommodation in the city of Cusco. From there, we depart in shared tourist transportation toward the impressive Sacred Valley of the Incas, following the course of the Urubamba River.

Along the way, you will enjoy Andean landscapes and, depending on the day (Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday), it is possible to visit the traditional Pisac artisan market at its most authentic moment, where local communities trade products and showcase their living culture.

Pisac – Agricultural terraces and Inca legacy

Our first visit is the Pisac archaeological complex, one of the most impressive sites in the Sacred Valley.

Here you can admire:

  • Perfectly preserved Inca agricultural terraces
  • Ceremonial sectors and Temple of the Sun
  • The Intihuatana, an ancient Inca solar clock
  • Elite residences and urban structures
  • Tombs carved into the mountains

Pisac offers a spectacular panoramic view of the valley and the Urubamba River, and it was an important agricultural center of the Inca Empire.

Route to Urubamba : We continue through the towns of Calca and Urubamba, enjoying fertile valley landscapes and traditional Andean rural life.

Ollantaytambo – Living Inca fortress

Next, we arrive at Ollantaytambo, one of the most important archaeological complexes of the Inca Empire.

This site stands out for:

  • Monumental terraces built into the mountains
  • Ceremonial temples with precise Inca architecture
  • Still-functioning ceremonial water fountains
  • A living Inca town with original streets

Ollantaytambo was a strategic point connecting the Sacred Valley with the Amazon jungle, as well as a military, religious, and agricultural center.

Chinchero – Living Andean culture

We continue to Chinchero, a town where Inca traditions are still preserved today.

This place features:

  • Main square with Inca and colonial architecture
  • Church built over the palace of Túpac Yupanqui
  • Religious art from the Cusco School
  • Traditional textile workshops run by local communities

Chinchero is considered one of the best examples of continuous Andean cultural heritage.

Moray – Inca agricultural laboratory

Visit to Moray, a set of circular terraces arranged in a natural amphitheater.

It is believed to have been an agricultural experimentation center where the Incas studied microclimates to improve crops such as potatoes, corn, quinoa, and other Andean products.

Maras Salt Mines – The white Andean landscape

We continue to the impressive Maras Salt Mines, a complex of more than 3,000 salt pools located on the Qaqawiñay mountain.

This unique site features:

  • Traditional handcrafted salt production
  • White and pink tones depending on sunlight
  • A striking contrast between mountains and salt ponds
  • Opportunity to purchase local gourmet salt
